House Fire in Van Nuys Under Investigation

VAN NUYS, LOS ANGELES, Apr. 11 (KNN) — Los Angeles city firefighters battled a destructive fire inside a home in the 14600 block of Gilmore Street in Van Nuys shortly after 2 a.m. Friday morning.

According to LAFD spokesperson Brian Humphrey, nearly 50 personnel battled the fire for over 30 minutes using defensive firefighting operations to knock down the blaze. The building, described by Humphrey as a vacant and boarded one-story home, was fully involved in the fire.

No injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Los Angeles Police Department officers and firefighters cordoned off the area with crime scene tape.
