SUV Crashes into Freeway Sound Wall After Colliding with Another Vehicle, 1 Killed

Arleta, Los Angeles, CA: One person was killed in a traffic collision on the I-5 Freeway Wednesday morning in the Arlerta area of the San Fernando Valley. California Highway Patrol was dispatched around 7:54 a.m. May 11, to the Southbound I-5 Freeway at Osborne for the collision.

Upon arrival, CHP and Caltrans conducted traffic as the two right lanes were closed due to the collision and investigation. One person was pronounced deceased at scene when the fire department arrived.

Coroner was also at the scene and transported the body at 11:20 a.m.

Per CHP at the location, the driver of the white Ford Explorer collided with another vehicle and crashed into the Osborne on-ramp sound wall. He also mentioned that traffic was backed up for hours and impacted many drivers due to the collision.

CHP reopened both lanes of traffic once the vehicle was towed away.
