Woman Fatally Shot in Abandoned House, Suspect Arrested for Murder

Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA: A suspect has been arrested for murder after a woman was found fatally shot in an abandoned house early Wednesday morning in the Van Nuys neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley.

Los Angeles Police Department officers responded to a call of a female suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound around 1:37 a.m. May 11, at Ranchito Avenue and Oxnard Street.

LAPD officers made a forcible entry into the abandoned home and found a female victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

LAPD stated in a news release that a preliminary investigation revealed that the injury sustained to the victim was not consistent with a self-inflicted gunshot.

Los Angeles City Fire Department responded and pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Witnesses talking to LAPD stated they heard screaming from inside the abandon residence.

According to LAPD, detectives learned that the suspect had called 911 and stated the victim had killed herself. The suspect was detained after fleeing to a nearby residence and then subsequently arrested after further investigation.

The suspect has been identified as 24-year-old Ryan Vintch, a resident of Los Angeles, who was arrested for murder and booked at Van Nuys jail. Investigators recovered a handgun that will be forensically processed and booked as evidence, LAPD said.

The victim has been identified as 24-year-old Alondra Flores, according to LAPD. The homicide is under investigation.
