
Westlake, Los Angeles, CA: A black Ford F-150 truck driving westbound on Wilshire Boulevard from Westlake Avenue on Saturday, June 11, 2022, around 8:35 a.m., drove onto the sidewalk for an unknown reason and crashed into several street vendor stands and pedestrians, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s news release of the incident.

The traffic collision occurred at the northeast corner of Alvarado Street and Wilshire Boulevard in the Westlake neighborhood of the city of Los Angeles. Two children were among the pedestrians involved in the collision, according to LAPD.
The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene. LAPD reported that the driver, a passenger, and all the pedestrians had minor injuries, however, the driver, passenger, one male pedestrian, three female pedestrians, a female 8-year-old child, and a male 8-year-old child were transported for precautionary reasons to local hospitals. Two male adults and one female adult refused any additional medical treatment.
LAPD said that it was originally reported that a firearm was pointed at the driver by an unknown male, however, after further interviews with the driver and witnesses, no firearm was ever seen. The investigation also revealed there were no signs of impairment or other related crimes.
