Pico-Union, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters were on the scene of a greater alarm commercial structure fire early Tuesday morning, June 21, in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Central Los Angeles.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the 2:29 a.m. call of a commercial fire on the 1600 block of West Washington Boulevard.
LAFD arrived at the scene of a 100′ x 100′ building with smoke and flames showing from the roof threatening one commercial building to the west. Additional units were requested to battle the greater alarm structure fire.
The department announced knockdown of the fire at 3:01 a.m. with 82 LAFD firefighters taking just 32 minutes to access, confine and fully extinguish the heavy flames. The one-story commercial building houses the “American Textile Maintenance” – a textile laundry and rental service.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
