Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County: Los Angeles Police Department officers were in pursuit of a stolen blue Chevrolet truck on the Northbound 5 Freeway, heading north on the 14 Freeway around 11:00 p.m. on Monday, Feb.14, in Santa Clarita.

The truck exited Newhall Avenue and drove northbound on Valle Del Oro, then parked in an empty parking spot on Via Estrella. The driver and other occupants fled on foot with media helicopters following along.

California Highway Patrol officers arrived on the scene at Valle Del Oro and Costa Brava where they identified one of the suspects as the driver of the stolen truck. He was taken into custody by CHP.

LAPD brought the suspect back to where he abandoned the truck, then was transported for booking. The other parties who fled the scene were not located.
