
Winnetka, Los Angeles, CA: Firefighters battled a fire that started in a business located on the bottom floor of an office building on Monday evening in Winnetka.
Los Angeles Fire Department received notification of the fire around 5:41 p.m. on the 20100 block of West Sherman Way.
When crews arrived, fire was present on the first and second floor of an office building. The fire was confined within one first floor unit, as well as four conjoined units on the second floor, according to Brian Humphrey with LAFD.
The business has yet to be determined, but clear evidence was noted of a marijuana grow operation, according to LAFD.
The cause of the fire remains under active investigation and the legality of the grow operation will be determined by law enforcement, LAFD reported. It is unknown how much marijuana was present at the location at the time of the fire.
There were no reported injuries.
