Fuel Leak Spills Across Freeway After Semi vs Vehicle Collision

Shadow Hills, Los Angeles, CA: A collision between a semi and vehicle resulted in a hazardous materials response on the 210 Freeway in the Shadow Hills area within the San Fernando Valley.

The Los Angeles Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to the reported traffic collision around 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, on the westbound 210 Freeway at Wheatland Avenue.

The collision resulted in approximately 100G fuel leak spilling across the freeway, according to LAFD. The westbound 210 just east of Wheatland offramp had all lanes of traffic closed. This was an extended duration operation and all drivers were advised to take alternate routes, according to LAFD.

CHP officers were observed assisting firefighters with the spill cleanup.

No injuries were reported.
