Elysian Park, Los Angeles, CA: One person was located trapped inside a vehicle after a freeway collision early Tuesday morning and then pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Los Angeles City Fire Department and California Highway Patrol responded to reports of a traffic collision on the 110 Freeway southbound near Stadium Way around 1:20 a.m. July 19, in the Elysian Park neighborhood of Central Los Angeles.
When fire department units arrived at the location, they found one victim pinned inside a car. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to try and free the victim. The victim was found to be beyond medical help and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
CHP had all lanes of the 110 closed, with traffic exiting at Stadium Way. It was unknown at the time of this report when the freeway was due to be reopened.
