1 Trapped After 2-Vehicle High-Speed Crash Shears Hydrant

Historic South Central Los Angeles, CA: A two-vehicle high-speed crash sheared a hydrant and left one person trapped inside a vehicle at Washington Boulevard and Broadway in the Historic South Central Los Angeles neighborhood of Los Angeles early Wednesday morning, July 27, 2022.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the location for the reported 3:50 a.m. traffic collision to find one person trapped inside one of the vehicles which had sheared a hydrant.

It took 10 minutes for LAFD to free the victim from the vehicle. The patient was transported by LAFD paramedics to a local hospital. Los Angeles Police Department’s Traffic Division was on the scene investigating the crash.
