Investigation Underway of Shooting at Motel, 1 Victim Wounded

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: Kern County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a shooting call regarding a male with a gunshot wound around 11:35 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, at the Country Inn Motel on the 1000 block of South Union Avenue in the city of Bakersfield.

The victim was transported by Hall ambulance to a local hospital in unknown condition. Kern County Sheriff’s deputies were on the scene of the investigation.

The male adult victim sustained upper body gunshot wounds, according to Kern County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Plugge. The circumstance surrounding the shooting is still under investigation.
