Graphic Video: Police Open Fire, Kill Suspect at End of Pasadena Pursuit

Pasadena, Los Angeles County, CA: (Warning: Graphic Video) An armed suspect was shot and killed by police early Saturday morning, July 30, at the end of a pursuit on the 600 block of North Lake Avenue in the city of Pasadena.

Pasadena Police officers, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies and California Highway Patrol officers were in pursuit of an armed carjacking suspect around 2:25 a.m. in the area of Pasadena where at one point, the suspect drove the wrong way on the 210 Freeway.

California Highway patrol maneuvered the suspect, however, the suspect continued on and finally came to a stop at Orange Grove Boulevard and Lake Avenue. The suspect held a gun to his head as he sat in the vehicle and tried to escape by driving forward when an officer-involved shooting occurred.

“The suspect is deceased,” Pasadena Police Department said in a news release. “There were no Pasadena Police officers injured during this incident.”

“Detectives from the Pasadena Police Department’s Robbery/Homicide Unit responded to the crime scene to commence an immediate follow-up investigation,” said the department.

The department also stated that the investigation is very preliminary and more details will be provided as soon as possible.
