Maintenance Worker Rescued, Pulled from Aircraft Fuel Tank at FedEx Hub

Westchester, Los Angeles, CA: A 30-year-old male patient was transported to the hospital after being pulled unconscious from an aircraft fuel tank by Los Angeles firefighters after performing maintenance on a commercial cargo plane, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The incident occurred around 12:38 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14, on the 5900 block of West Imperial Highway at the FedEx Hub in the Westchester neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The patient is currently in unknown condition. Five additional patients were evaluated and are not expected to require hospital transport, according to LAFD.

There are no further details at this time.
