Object Strikes Ontario PD Vehicle Windshield, Officer Injured

Upland, San Bernardino County, CA: An Ontario Police Department officer was traveling westbound on the 10 Freeway just before South Euclid Avenue to assist another officer on a traffic stop in the city of Claremont when his windshield was struck by an object on the westbound 10 Freeway just after 3:00 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, 2022.

The Ontario officer immediately exited the 10 Freeway at Euclid Avenue in the city of Upland due to glass from the windshield striking his face.

Additional Ontario officers and Ontario Fire Department responded to the area of Seventh Street and Euclid Avenue where the officer exited the freeway. The officer was assessed by firefighters and paramedics but was not transported.

The Ontario patrol unit had a hole in the windshield.

There is major construction that is occurring on the westbound and eastbound 10 Freeway at Euclid in the city of Upland.
