Pico-Union, Los Angeles, CA: A vacant two-story apartment building caught fire early Thursday morning, Oct. 13, on the 1600 block of West 20th Street in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Central Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Fire Department crews responded to the reported structure fire at approximately 1:45 a.m. Firefighters arrived to battle heavy flames showing on the second floor that extended into the attic area.
Knockdown was achieved in 30 minutes with 42 firefighters on the scene, according to LAFD.
No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
