Alley Trash Fire Spreads to Home in Los Angeles Neighborhood

Vermont Square, Los Angeles, CA: An alley trash fire had spread to a home and threatened a nearby commercial building before firefighters quickly doused the flames overnight.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to reports of a house fire around 12:18 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 12, on the 200 block of West 47th Street in the Vermont Square neighborhood of Los Angeles.

When LAFD personnel arrived, they located burning trash in an alley that was exposing a single-story home and a commercial building. Flames extended into one room of the house, according to LAFD.

LAFD reported knockdown within 10 minutes of arrival.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. No injuries were reported.
