Pico-Union, Los Angeles, CA: A teenager was found fatally shot inside a vehicle in the Pico-Union neighborhood of Central Los Angeles late Tuesday night. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations West Bureau Homicide detectives are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect.

On Apr. 11, around 10:30 p.m., a teenager was a passenger in a vehicle parked on 7th Street near Berendo, when a male suspect approached the vehicle in what is believed to be an attempted robbery, according to the Los Angeles Police Department news release of the incident.
The driver quickly drove away and shots were fired, the release stated. The teen was struck by gunfire and the driver attempted to drive to the hospital.
The driver observed LAPD officers at Olympic Boulevard and Burlington Avenue and stopped for their help, according to LAPD. The officers attempted life-saving measures while the Los Angeles Fire Department was called to respond.
LAFD personnel pronounced the teen deceased at the scene despite life-saving attempts, reported LAPD.
The male suspect was last seen fleeing 7th Street on foot. The suspect is described as a male Hispanic in his early twenties, reported LAPD.
LAPD had closed Burlington and Olympic during the investigation.
