Lake Balboa, Los Angeles, CA: A suspect was believed to be barricaded inside a home Tuesday night, Apr. 11, on the 6700 block of Gaviota Avenue in the Lake Balboa neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.

It was unclear at the time of the incident what prompted the barricade, but the Los Angeles Police Department alongside SWAT and K-9 officers were at the location as of 2:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 12.
Vanowen Street between Gloria and Woodley was blocked off for the LAPD command post during the hours-long standoff.
The Los Angeles Fire Department was also observed in the area.
The standoff ended around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday, Apr. 12, when it was determined the suspect was not at the location, according to the LAPD.
Initially, officers went to the Gaviota Avenue residence around 9:15 p.m. Apr. 11, to serve a felony warrant, according to LAPD. Officers at the location believed the man was barricaded in the home. A perimeter was immediately established in the neighborhood that lasted all night.
Officers are currently in search of the suspect.
The nature of the crime allegedly committed by the suspect is unknown at this time.
