Van Nuys, Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles Fire Department was on the scene of a Greater Alarm office building fire early Wednesday morning which left multiple units damaged as well as a facade.

LAFD responded to a commercial structure fire just before 3:00 a.m., Apr. 12, on the 6700 block of North Kester Avenue in the Van Nuys neighborhood within the San Fernando Valley region of the city of Los Angeles.
Arriving firefighters found a 100′ x 100′ two-story office building with heavy fire showing in one unit, according to LAFD. The fire progressed to Greater Alarm status after stubborn flames extended to additional units. Firefighters were assigned in offensive firefighting operations
Just under an hour after arrival, 126 firefighters confined and extinguished the blaze that involved as many as three units in a 15,500 square foot building.
Firefighters remained at the scene for an extended period of time past dawn to complete extinguishment of smoldering debris and assist in the formal investigation into the cause of the fire, which involved several units, led to surface fire on the roof and caused structural compromise to a facade, reported LAFD.
The cause of the fire remains under active investigation. No injuries were reported.
