Police Search for Shooting Suspects in Long Beach

Long Beach, Los Angeles County, CA: Long Beach Police Department officers responded to a reported shooting around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, Apr. 16, in the area of East Market Street and Cedar Avenue in the city of Long Beach prompting a search for possibly more than one suspect.

A dispute between a group of people led to gunfire at the location when a male suspect produced a firearm, according to information from City News Service.

Arriving officers to the area heard multiple shots being fired. A perimeter was established at the location as the LBPD SWAT team moved in to search for the suspect in an apartment building.

Evidence of a shooting was located at the scene while officers continued to search for the suspect and possibly additional suspects involved in the shooting.

At this time, no one has been reported injured.

Streets in the area were closed to traffic during the search which continued until at least just before 5:00 a.m.
