Tensions flared between the injured pursuit suspect and friends of the motorist that he allegedly crashed into after a brief vehicle pursuit throughout the unincorporated southeast Los Angeles area.

The pursuit began around 12:25 a.m., Apr. 25, when a Century Station sheriff’s cruiser was intentionally rear-ended by a Jeep. The deputies gave chase to the suspect vehicle, which took off from the scene.

When the pursuit reached the intersection of Gage and Wilmington Avenues, the suspect vehicle collided with a gray Infiniti sedan.

Multiple male subjects fled on foot from the Jeep but were quickly located – one had allegedly sustained a broken arm during the collision and was placed onto a stretcher.

When paramedics were wheeling the suspect to an ambulance, multiple males attempted to attack the suspect. The confrontation grew between some locals and the group of males.

At least two people were seen in a fistfight at one point on camera.

At this time, it is unclear if any suspects remain outstanding.

LASD Century deputies are handling the investigation alongside California Highway Patrol South Los Angeles officers.
