Canyon Country, Santa Clarita, CA: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Bomb Squad responded to Canyon Country Thursday morning in connection with a Los Angeles Police Department operation.

The situation unfolded shortly after 10 a.m., Apr. 27, on the 29300 block of Florabunda Road where LAPD Mission area officers in conjunction with the United States Marshalls were serving an arrest and search warrant related to an assault with a deadly weapon crime.
During the service of the search warrant, officers located two explosive devices. At that time, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and their bomb squad were notified. Once on scene, the squad deemed the devices to be safe, according to Lt. Joseph Kalyn with LAPD Mission Division.
The suspect was taken into custody without incident.
LAPD was serving a search warrant looking for any evidence to the crime, said Kalyn.
The crime took place in the Mission station area about three weeks ago and drew officers to a Canyon Country home.
