Lynwood, Los Angeles County, CA: A DUI pursuit suspect was restrained to a gurney and transported to a local hospital after crashing a Corvette into a house early Tuesday morning, May 2, just after midnight.

South Gate Police attempted to stop a possible DUI driver in their city when the driver took off. A brief vehicle pursuit ensued until the driver of the Corvette lost control and crashed into the front porch of a home occupied by a single adult at Abbott Road and Hildreth Avenue in the city of Lynwood.
The occupant of the home did not sustain any injuries.
The male suspect quickly fled from the car and ran northbound on Hildreth Avenue into the city of South Gate before being tackled by police.
At least one officer was assessed for superficial wounds from the foot pursuit, but the officer declined medical transport.
The suspect was seen screaming and resisting officers as he was restrained to a stretcher.
According to a South Gate PD sergeant on scene, the suspect was wanted for DUI and it is unclear if the vehicle was stolen.
