Panorama City, Los Angeles, CA: An alleged theft suspect was taken into custody by police early Thursday morning after exiting a vehicle not belonging to him and then taking off on foot with officers running close behind.
The Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a call of an unconscious person around 3:15 a.m., May 18, on the 9000 block of Sylmar Avenue in the Panorama City neighborhood of Los Angeles.
When firefighters arrived, they requested police back up for a robbery in progress.
Los Angeles Police Department officers arrived at the location and found one male inside a vehicle. Officers began callouts to try and get the suspect to exit a car that did not belong to him.
As the suspect was leaving the vehicle with his hands on his head, he ran from police and was captured within a short distance.
The condition of the person inside the residence was not immediately known. No injuries were initially reported.
LAPD is investigating the situation.
