Renton Police Department officers arrived at the location and found a convenience store clerk with a gunshot wound to the hand. Officers had difficultly communicating with the clerk because of a language barrier.

The clerk’s family later arrived and helped to interpret their description of the shooter to police.

The clerk was transported to Harborview Medical Center in stable condition. It was not immediately clear what instigated the shooting.

Police also believe the suspect may have accidentally shot himself when dropping the gun.

RPD is continuing the investigation.
