East Hollywood, Los Angeles, CA: A large tree and curbside brush burned Monday night, Sept. 12, on the 500 block of North Vermont Avenue in the East Hollywood neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The fire, which was reported at 10:34 p.m., scorched a large pine tree and a pile of brush in front of West Coast University.

The Los Angeles Fire Department arrived at the location and achieved a quick knockdown on the fire. The university building sustained a few scorch marks on the Vermont Avenue face, but nothing in the building caught fire.

The cause is unknown at this time.
