Deadly Daytime Shooting Near Park in Palmdale

Palmdale, Los Angeles County, CA: A fatal shooting occurred around 4:58 p.m. on Sunday, Apr. 3, at 11th Street East and Avenue Q-12 in the city of Palmdale.

Witnesses said the suspect and victim were engaged in a verbal confrontation when the suspect pulled a firearm out and shot the victim. Palmdale Station deputies of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department arrived on the scene to investigate. Los Angeles County fire engine and squad 37 were also at the location.

A victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead, said Lieutenant Kim, Watch Commander with Palmdale Sheriff’s Station. No further details were immediately available. Homicide detectives responded to the scene.

The suspect is still at large.
