Driver in Custody Following Fatal Freeway Crash in Studio City

STUDIO CITY, LOS ANGELES, Feb. 8 (KNN) – California Highway Patrol officers and Los Angeles police responded to a reported body in lanes on the northbound 101 Freeway and Universal Studios Boulevard shortly after 2 a.m. Saturday.

It was reported that there was a solo vehicle traffic collision, and the driver was standing in lanes. Shortly after, the driver was struck by a vehicle.

The male driver was found lying in the number 2 and 3 lanes of the 101 Freeway and may have been driving a green Dodge Charger. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics declared the man deceased at the scene.

A male was taken into custody at the scene for possible DUI. It is believed the detained individual was driving a Mustang.
