Driver Involved in Fatal Porter Ranch Traffic Collision Expected to Face Criminal Charges

Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, CA: The injured driver of a black Honda CRV involved in a multi-vehicle fatal traffic collision Saturday evening in Porter Ranch, is expected to face criminal charges upon release from the hospital, according to the Los Angeles Police Department’s Sunday news release regarding the collision.

“The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division detectives are investigating a multi-vehicle collision in which two passengers died from their injuries,” the release stated.

LAPD reported that a black 2007 Honda CRV was traveling at a high rate of speed southbound Reseda Boulevard south of San Fernando Mission Boulevard around 5:35 p.m. Oct. 22, 2022, when it veered into northbound lanes and collided with a black 2012 Toyota Venza and a black 2015 Volkswagen Jetta. The Honda CRV then collided with a parked vehicle on Reseda Boulevard.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene and extricated occupants from all the vehicles. A total of six occupants were inside the Honda CRV with one occupant pronounced deceased at the scene, and the other succumbed to injuries at the hospital, according to LAPD. The deceased have not been identified pending notification of next of kin.

Both deceased passengers are reported to be teens, with LAFD reporting the one deceased at the scene to be 17-years-old.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner-Coroner has identified the deceased male at the scene as 16-year-old Magnus Robinson. The identity of the other teen is still pending at this time.

The three occupants inside the Toyota Venza and the one occupant inside the Volkswagen Jetta were all transported to a hospital with moderate injuries and are expected to recover, reported LAPD.

“The driver of the Honda CRV was injured as a result of the collision and was transported to a hospital for medical treatment. He will be facing criminal charges upon being released from the hospital,” LAPD stated.
