Driver Killed in High-Speed Rollover Crash on 101 Freeway Off-Ramp

Oxnard, Ventura County, CA: A high-speed rollover crash on a 101 Freeway off-ramp early Friday morning left the driver dead at the scene.

California Highway Patrol Ventura and Oxnard Police officers responded to reports of a solo vehicle rollover crash around 12:43 a.m. Friday, Apr. 14, on the Santa Clara Avenue off-ramp from northbound US-101.

When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they located a Mercedes SUV on its roof in the middle of the off-ramp. The female driver was still inside the vehicle and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

A male passenger was contacted outside of the vehicle and was assessed for injuries.

A witness reported seeing the vehicle traveling at speeds of over 140 mph prior to the crash.
