Fatal 405 Traffic Collision Involves Pedestrian on Freeway

Granada Hills, Los Angeles, CA: A fatal traffic collision involving a pedestrian on the 405 Freeway early Friday morning, Sept. 23, prompted a SigAlert blocking all lanes of traffic.

California Highway Patrol and the Los Angeles City Fire Department responded to a solo-vehicle traffic collision around 2:22 a.m. on the 405 Freeway where they found an Infinity blocking the # 2 lane with no driver or passenger inside the vehicle.

CHP also found a vehicle a little ways up from the Infinity, that sustained front end damage from apparently running into a pedestrian who was crossing the freeway.

CHP had all lanes blocked 405 southbound, south of the 118 Freeway, for an unknown duration of time.

There were no further details at the time of the incident.
