Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, CA: The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to a vacant commercial structure fire around 9:10 p.m. Sunday, July 3, on the 6000 block of North De Soto Avenue in the Woodland Hills neighborhood of Los Angeles within the San Fernando Valley.

The one-story, large (100′ x 200′) commercial building was showing fire through the roof when firefighters arrived, according to LAFD. Personnel immediately began fighting the blaze in defensive mode.
LAFD reported the incident at Major Emergency status around 9:37 p.m. with over 80 firefighters assigned. The structure was fully involved in flames with structural integrity of the building starting to fail.
California Highway Patrol was at the incident providing traffic control. Water and Power was also on scene. The intersections were closed to provide access to the fire department.
The majority of the large blaze was knocked down in one hour and nine minutes, according to LAFD. Remaining pockets of hot spots in hard to reach areas kept crews at the scene for an extended period of time.
No injuries were reported and no other structures were damaged. The LAFD Arson and Counter-Terrorism section will be handling the investigation per protocol. There are no further details.
