Firefighters Rescue Man Trapped During Structure Fire

Florence, Los Angeles, CA: Los Angeles Fire Department firefighters rescued a man from a structure fire at approximately 3:00 a.m., Thursday, July 7, in the Florence neighborhood within the city of Los Angeles.

The fire was reported on the 8400 block Avalon Boulevard and was extinguished by firefighters in approximately five minutes. The fire was a contents fire within the structure and the source of the flames.

Firefighters discovered a man trapped behind a security door in the building, unable to exit the smoke filled structure. A rotary saw was used to cut the door and free the trapped victim.

The man was evaluated at the location and seen placed into an ambulance, however, it is unknown if he was transported to a local area hospital at the time of this report.
