Duarte, Los Angeles County, CA: The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of multiple victims trapped on a wash island in the middle of Santa Fe Dam in the area of North Todd Avenue and West Sierra Madre Avenue in the city of Duarte, Monday, Mar. 13.
When the fire department arrived on scene just after 6:00 p.m., they found six people trapped with water flowing approximately 20 mph around them in the wash.
Heavy Rescue was requested with multiple helicopters to pull the people out. Three victims were transported to a local hospital.
Altadena Search and Recuse was also requested because of the possibility more victims may be in the wash.
