Homeless Open Hydrant in Attempt to Extinguish Burning RV

Sun Valley, Los Angeles, CA: Homeless individuals managed to open a hydrant in an attempt to extinguish a fire engulfing a recreational vehicle early Thursday morning, June 23, 2022.

The Los Angeles Fire Department responded to an RV fire in Sun Valley around 3:46 a.m. on the 9800 block of San Fernando Road.

When units arrived to the location, they found homeless individuals had opened a hydrant and began spraying the RV with little hoses and buckets.

Key News Network video from the location shows individuals going inside an RV next to the one engulfed in flames, and unloading musical equipment as the RV started to catch fire.

Firefighters extinguished the flames. No injuries were reported.
