Homeowner Smashes Chair Over Suspect’s Head During Attempted Home Invasion

San Dimas, Los Angeles County, CA: A homeowner fought back against an intruder who gained entry into a private occupied residence early Friday morning.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s San Dimas Station received a 911 call just after 1:30 a.m., May 5, from a homeowner who reported a male had broken into his house while he was home on the 100 block of Ashvale Drive near North San Dimas Avenue in the city of San Dimas.

The homeowner was able to smash a chair over the suspect’s head. The suspect then ran out the back of the house according to LASD information from the location.

Sheriff’s deputies were able to locate the suspect bleeding from his head in front of a residence on the 100 block of Penn Street about a block away from the victim’s home.

The suspect was taken into custody by sheriff’s deputies and transported to a local hospital for his injuries.

It is currently unknown if the homeowner sustained any injuries and if the suspect was able to take anything from the residence. The home is on a private road.
