Homicide Suspect Barricades in Palmdale Home

Palmdale, Los Angeles County, CA: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the 36900 block of James Place in the city of Palmdale where a homicide suspect had barricaded himself in a home. Deputies from Lancaster and Santa Clarita were requested to respond to the scene and help out with the containment.

The suspect barricaded in the home around noon on Saturday, June 11, and was still reported in the home at 3:39 p.m.

Per LASD, the suspect’s mother did make contact with him at one point and suspect informed her he was not planning on coming out.

Per preliminary information from the location suggests the 25-year-old male suspect allegedly shot his girlfriend inside the location last month. The family is saying the suspect appears to be under the influence of methamphetamine and has not been diagnosed with any mental issues, however, they believe he is schizophrenic.

The barricade ended around 7:00 p.m. with the suspect transported to a local hospital. There are no further details at this time.
