Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: Kern County Sheriff’s Office deputies were at the scene of an officer-involved shooting in the city of Bakersfield Saturday night.

At approximately 9:55 p.m., Apr. 8, KCSO deputies responded to the 300 block of Casa Loma Drive for a report of a subject “shooting into an inhabited dwelling”, reported the Public Information Officer for KCSO in an advisory.
When officers arrived, they were confronted by a male suspect armed with a firearm and were involved in an officer-involved shooting, stated KCSO.
KCSO reported that the suspect sustained injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
At least two people were seen handcuffed and escorted to sheriff’s vehicles in Key News Network video from the location. It was unclear at the scene if they were arrested, or detained for questioning and later released. There was no information immediately available regarding those individuals in the KCSO advisory of the incident.
No deputies involved were injured.
The area was taped off in both directions of Casa Loma Drive for the investigation.
No further details were available at the time of this report.
