K-9 Officer Involved in Crash After Leaving Scene of Pursuit

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: Around 11:25 p.m. Wednesday, Apr. 20, a Bakersfield Police K-9 Officer, Brock Mueller, and his partner Mondo were involved in a crash on Panama Lane and Colony Street in the city of Bakersfield. Officer Mueller had just left the scene of a vehicle pursuit when the crash occurred just a few blocks away.

Mueller appeared to have suffered an injured nose from the force of airbag deployment during the collision but was up and walking around. K-9 Mondo was taken to an area animal hospital to be checked.

The driver of the other vehicle was assessed by medics and not transported. A female passenger was transported by Hall Ambulance to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Mueller was involved in an officer-involved shooting one year ago on April 28, were K-9 Jango was shot and killed by a suspect after a vehicle pursuit.
