Los Angeles Police Department’s Hollenbeck units responded to a shooting call around 4:20 a.m. at the Arco gas station on the 4800 block of Huntington Drive South.

When officers arrived on scene, they located a male down with a gunshot wound to the abdomen.

The victim was transported in unknown condition to Los Angeles General Medical Center (formally known as LA County USC Medical Center) by Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics.

Officers also located a blood trail lasting for several blocks leading away from the crime scene.

The blood trail led to the suspect who was suffering from a laceration to his leg.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and was also transported to the hospital.

It is unclear whether the victim shot was the gas station’s clerk. However, a shirt observed on the ground in the crime scene resembled that of an Arco “am/pm” convenience store employee uniform.

There were no further details at this time from the LAPD regarding this incident.
