Motorcyclist Killed in Sylmar Traffic Collision

SYLMAR, LOS ANGELES, Sept. 3 (KNN) — A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision late Sunday night allegedly involving another vehicle that fled the scene, according to witnesses.

The incident occurred shortly before 11 p.m. on Foothill Boulevard just north of Balboa Boulevard in Sylmar.

The Los Angeles Police Department along with firefighters responded to the location and found a motorcyclist on the ground just behind a guardrail near a light pole with damage.

Bystanders began CPR on the victim before the arrival of first responders.

Los Angeles Fire Department firefighter/paramedics pronounced the rider deceased at the scene.

Witnesses stated a vehicle struck the motorcycle which caused it to crash, sending the rider into the light pole.

It was unclear at the time of this report, if any witnesses provided a vehicle description to authorities.
