Angeles National Forest, Los Angeles County, CA: Multiple occupied vehicles were trapped in mud from apparently sliding down a hillside in the Angeles National Forest late Sunday evening, Sept. 11, around 7:40 p.m.

Los Angeles County Fire Department responded with three engines and several others from the department to Pine Canyon Road for reports of several vehicles trapped in mud with passengers inside.
Upon arrival firefighters and rescuers found at least 15 vehicles were trapped by the mud that had apparently slid down the hill. Rescuers quickly requested additional resources to include inmates from the local fire camp.
Some victims reported being trapped for at least two hours before being rescued by the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
No injuries were reported at the time of this report. Once victims were freed they were loaded onto awaiting transports that took them to the local fire station for triage and to arrange transportation to their destinations.
