Multiple Vehicles Stuck in Flooded Roadway; 1 Driver Seen Sitting on Top of Car

Commerce, Los Angeles County, CA: The Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to South Atlantic Boulevard and Sheila Street in the city of Commerce around 3:00 a.m. Wednesday, Mar. 15, for multiple cars stuck in a flooded roadway with one person sitting on top of his car.

A firefighter physically pushed the vehicle out of the water to safety after the driver slid into the drivers seat from the top of the car through the open sunroof.

Both north and southbound lanes of the flooded roadway were closed.

Roads were closed in many areas of Los Angeles due to flooding, mudslides and other hazards as another rainstorm pummeled the Southland which began on Tuesday and is predicted to continue into Wednesday.
