Lancaster, CA: A Lancaster off-duty deputy was assaulted by a transient around 9:58 a.m. on Wednesday Feb. 16, 2022.

The assault occurred at Cedar Avenue and West Lancaster Boulevard, a block away from the local Sheriff’s Department.

It is unknown what led to the assault. The transient was arrested and transported to the Sheriff’s Department. Firefighters from Station 33 and paramedics responded to the scene and treated the off-duty deputy who was transported to Antelope Valley Hospital.
