LANCASTER, Calif., June 27 (KNN) – At approximately 5:37 a.m. Wednesday, the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to a report of a significant fire at a junkyard located at Sierra Highway and Avenue I.

The fire reportedly involved around 100 vehicles, prompting a large-scale response from fire crews. The Los Angeles County Health Department was also requested to the scene due to potential air quality concerns.
As a result of the fire, Sierra Highway and Avenue I were closed to ensure public safety and to facilitate better access for the fire department.
