BAKERSFIELD, Calif., Dec. 7 (KNN) — Multiple pedestrians were struck by a pickup truck during a Christmas parade in downtown Bakersfield Thursday evening.

Bakersfield police officers responded to reports of a truck that had struck multiple people around 5:30 p.m. in the area of H and 21st streets during a Christmas Parade. According to Battalion Chief Mike Lencioni with the Bakersfield Fire Department at the scene, three people were transported to a nearby hospital – two were in critical condition, and one in moderate condition. All three are reported to be in stable condition.
The incident happened in front of the Bakersfield Fire Department where there were on duty, off duty and retired personnel who all quickly responded to the incident as well as the Bakersfield PD, said Lencioni.
The Bakersfield Police Department was on the scene handling the investigation.
The circumstances surrounding the incident are unknown at this time.
