Police Hold Back Unruly Crowd After Officer-Involved Shooting of Suspect

Historic South Central, Los Angeles, CA: At 9:45 p.m. Saturday, July 2, officers were dispatched to the intersection of 37th Street and Woodlawn for a report of a man with a gun in the Historic South Central neighborhood of Los Angeles.

Los Angeles Police Department reported that the suspect was not complying with their requests, and at 9:51 p.m. a Rescue Ambulance was requested to 37th Street and Maple for a gunshot victim who was conscious and breathing.

At 11:05 p.m., there was an officer needs help call for an unruly crowd and it was reported that LAPD officers were taking hits from projectiles.

In response, LAPD set a skirmish line around the crime scene utilizing riot gear and vehicles to move back the crowd.

No additional injuries were reported.
