Pursuit Ends with Combative Suspect Trapped in Crashed Vehicle

San Dimas, Los Angeles County, CA: Pomona Police Department officers were in pursuit of a red pickup truck that ended just after 2:00 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, in the city of San Dimas with the suspect trapped in the crashed vehicle. The pursuit was initiated in the city of Pomona, however, the reason for the pursuit is unknown at this time.

The suspect entered the westbound 10 Freeway leaving the city of Pomona, then traveled the northbound 57 Freeway from the 10 Freeway westbound when the suspect crashed into a big rig trapping the suspect inside the pickup truck at northbound 57 Freeway just before Covina Boulevard in the city of San Dimas.

Los Angeles County firefighters utilized the Jaws of Life to remove the dashboard trapping the suspect’s legs inside the truck.

The suspect was freed from the pickup truck and immediately became combative with firefighters and Pomona officers.

The suspect was transported to Pomona Valley Hospital in unknown condition.
