River Rescue Turns into Recovery of Victim Underwater

Bakersfield, Kern County, CA: On Monday, July 25, at approximately 7:33 p.m. a call came out for a person trying to pull a victim out from underneath the water that appeared to be drowning.

The search was unsuccessful in the area of Hart Memorial Park in the Kern River, therefore, rescue attempts turned into a recovery mission. The Bakersfield Fire Department along with Kern County Fire were on the scene. Eventually, Search and Rescue crews responded to take over the scene.
