Solo Vehicle Crash into Hydrant Sends Water Skyward

Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, CA: A single vehicle crash into a hydrant early Wednesday morning sent up a geyser of water skyward.

Los Angeles Fire Department and the Los Angeles Police Department responded to reports of a traffic collision around 1:14 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, on the 11400 of Porter Ranch Drive in the Porter Ranch neighborhood within the San Fernando Valley.

When units arrived to the location, they found a single vehicle versus a fire hydrant with water shooting approximately 50 feet into the air.

Rain and wet roads may have been factors in the collision.

LAPD Valley Traffic Division is investigating.
